Every great Congolese plate starts with a decision, and it is usually this one. Our riz comes three ways: plain white rice, steamed fluffy with distinct grains; Jollof rice, cooked down in tomato and spices until deep red-orange; and rice & peas, the Caribbean favourite with tender beans folded through. Same price of admission, three very different moods.

Plain white is the quiet partner that lets a rich sauce speak. Jollof arrives already seasoned, a meal in itself under a piece of grilled fish or chicken. Rice & peas sits somewhere in between: gentle, nutty and filling. Whichever you choose, order it alongside something bold, that is what it was born for.
